day 19. a photo of you on a school trip
I had to volunteer for my environmental science class, so I volunteered with the Washington State Trails Association to help clean up the state trails. It was a lot of fun and very rewarding. :)

Well we are back home now. Back from Los Angeles, back from the funeral, back to reality. Reality is setting in and my grandmother is still gone. It's hard for my to realize it because I did love her so much. She was an amazing person, nobody can deny that. Godly, loving and motherly. It's not nearly as hard for me as it is for my father and his siblings. Especially my aunt Simona, she passed on in her house. There's going to be an empty seat at Christmas, New Years and all the other holidays, but I think there will be an empty void in most everyone until we all take the time to heal. She was beautiful, the funeral was beautiful and I can't wait to see how Christ has added to her beauty in heaven. See you soon.
If anyone reading this believes in the power of prayer, do me a favor and just pray. For the whole family.
Thank you

Now to finish what I have begun,
day 18. a photo of one of your classes
I think this one is weird.
via google
I couldn't find a picture of one of my actual classes, but this is where I got my A.A. from. :)

day 17. a drunk photo of you
Ummm I'm going to skip this one. :)

day 16. a photo of you at the last party you went
Sadly the last party I went to was my grandmothers 70th birthday party. That was the last time I saw her alive. This past September. I'm happy I got to see her then, it was nice. :)

All of you know of my grandmother's passing this last weekend. Needless to say, it's been hard to know she is gone. It has been hard on my Dad and all of his siblings. I'm sorry if I start to skip out on this challenge, I will do my best to keep it going, but due to the circumstances I'm sure I'll miss a few days. Her funeral is actually this Saturday in Los Angeles, CA. For those of you that believe in the power of prayer, please pray for my whole family and everyone else attending. It won't be easy.

Thank you.

day 14. a photo of one of your favorite family members
I think it's only right to post a picture of my grandmother with this days challenge.

day 15. a photo of you and someone you love
I would post another photo of my grandmother here, but I feel like I might be overwhelming you guys too much.
The hubby and I in 2009

day 13. a photo of your best friends
Aug. 2009
This photo showcases all of my best friends, including my sister.
First off,
Sarah (top middle): I've known her for almost 15 years now. We met in grade school way back when and have been friends ever since. I am so proud of everything she has done. She is in the U.S. Coast Guard and travels a ridiculous amount, thanks to email and facebook we stay in contact very well!

Amelia (bottom right): I've known her for over 10 years as well. She is so headstrong and loving, I can't wait till she gets her nursing degree to see where it will take her. This girl is probably the most studious, determined person you will meet. I love her to death and she has helped me through numerous things multiple times.

Alyssa (bottom left): Well first off I am so honored to be this girls friend. I've seen her get hurt multiple times and I've seen her grow in her faith and keep going. Some of the things she has been through I don't think I could do. She is an amazing woman of Christ and I am so happy to be her friend.

Emily (top right): Well first off (Gabi and Lavi) all of my sisters I consider my best friends. The only reason I have Emily up here right now is because it seems I can relate to her a little bit better now that she is older. Emily is the loud rambunctions, EXTREMELY talented kid in the corner whom you would never consider to tell off a teacher. Wellllll.....that was until she did. She has stood up to her professor when they have been wrong to talk about things they don't know, she has stood up for her family and she has stood up for herself. I've seen her grow from the kid of Dad's shoulders that wouldn't stop talking to herself, to a beautiful woman that stands up for what's right. I am VERY proud of you Emily.

Of course my husband is my closest best friend as well. There is no doubt in my mind of that. But, I wanted to introduce everyone to some of my best girl-friends. I hope you all enjoyed meeting them, I sure enjoy being their friend.

Today is a rough day for our family. I was woken up this morning with a phone call from my mother telling me of my grandmothers sudden death. She went home to Christ peacefully in her sleep sometime last night/this morning. Needless to say my grandmother was an amazing woman. Nobody can deny that. She had a wonderful sense of humor and some of the best jokes I've ever heard. She will be greatly missed for sure. My emotions have been all over the place today, but one thing I craved the most was snow. Winter is my favorite season hands down and I've been wanting to go up to Mount Charleston for a few days now. So today I took the opportunity and went.
It was snowing when I got up there. I stopped at the information area of the mountain and got out. I stood against a tree and felt the snow and wind whipping on my face. It was cold and that's how I like it. I watched the snow fall sideways with the wind and it was beautiful. By the end of my 20min outside my face felt numb, my nose was running and my hair had snowflakes in it. It was beautiful, just like my grandmother was. She will be missed, but I am rejoicing with Christ she is finally in heaven with her husband. Her 70 years on earth will never be forgotten here. I love you Mamaia.

Here are my photo's I took for you all:
Magdalena Nastase on her 70th birthday in September 2010

day 12. a photo of you.
Another one of these? I promise I'm not that interesting looking.
This is the most recent photo of myself. Josh and I ventured out to Williams, AZ for a pit
stop before the Grand Canyon last weekend. We didn't make it to the Grand Canyon because the sun went down too soon, but this little town was so quaint and adorable. I loved it! It's about an hour away from the North Rim I believe. If you have a chance to get there some day, go.

day 11. a photo of your favorite film(s)
via. wallpaperbase
I really enjoy watching this movie a lot. I'm not really the typical female stereotype whom enjoys the 'chick flick' all that often. Give me a good 'real' life type of movie or a movie which makes me think and I am as happy as a clam. Needless to say I do occasionally enjoy a romantic comedy, but it's not my preferred genera of movies.
Million Dollar Baby is an awesome movie to say the least, Hilary Swank portrays courage, faith and headstrong-ness in which sometimes I wish I had more of. If you haven't seen it, watch it. Let me know what you think of it too. :)

Day 10. a photo of you as a baby
This is my favorite picture of myself. I don't know why, it's probably the awesome outfit I'm wearing.

I also really like this one. I almost always have a confused look on my face...
Both of these photo's were taken in Romania. I was born there and I immigrated to the U.S. when I was 3 years old and became a citizen when I was around 11 years old. Both photos are more of my toddler stage instead of baby, but just take it from me I looked like a boy as a babe. Nobody needs to see those photos. :)

day 9. a photo of your family
This is a repeat picture from the last challenge I did. We still haven't taken a good family picture of the three of us. :)

8. a photo of your favorite band/musician
This one is hard!! I have no idea who my favorite band/musician is.
See I go through music phases, where I'll like country one week and hard rock the next.
Last week I listened to Enya all day..
Ummmm.....This week of course it's a mix of them all...seriously.
The Beatles!
Yep. The Beatles this week.
I really have no clue why. I just really enjoy their music. :)

day 7. a photo of someone you love
Taken April 2010
Thought I was going to put up a photo of my husband did ya?
We all know I love him already..I figured I'd throw you for a spin! Did it work?
Well either way, this is my mama. Her name is Claudia and she is wonderful. Everything she has
gone through in her life inspire me to become a stronger more Godly woman. Everyone has
trials and tribulations they go through, but not everyone can come out of them with a smile and
a better outlook on life. I've seen her grow in her faith with Christ and I've seen her down on her knees
asking for guidance. She is amazing. I don't know what I would do without my mama. :) I love you!

day 6. a photo that makes you laugh
July 2010. San Diego
This photo makes me laugh for a few reasons.
1. The look of relief on my husbands face
2. The fact that this was his first Cal. King size bed after he got back from Afghanistan
3. He was stuck on a twin size bunk bed in Afghanistan.
4. He's 6'5.
Needless to say, he was very happy to be on a bed which fit him after he got home.
I would probably be too.

Wish list.

My husband is at loss as to what to get me this Christmas.
Anyone else having this problem with their spouse? Well I've compiled a
'small' list of ideas for him. (Tee-hee)

Anything from either of these vendors
or...anything from Zales...always a good place.
AHEM. Moving on.

softlysweetly (It's always a good idea to buy me sweets.)

A DSLR would be PERFECT too. Buuuuut I'm not expecting this one.
Above are all of my favorite vendors from etsy too. I know I promised a couple people I would put up links to them. :) Enjoy everyone. Hope everyone is having a wonderful relaxing weekend.

P.S. Oh and honey, any of those work as stocking stuffers too.

day 5. A photo of you.
Another one of these?? I should have saved one from the previous 'me' posts.
Mother's Day 2010
Last Mother's Day I took my sisters and friend Alyssa out into a HUGE field with a beautiful barn and took some updated pictures of my sisters, Alyssa and myself for our Mother's. This is one of the photos which was taken by Alyssa. We had a blast needless to say. It was a beautiful day in the Seattle area. This was also when I was still living up there while the hubby was deployed.

Anyone have a solution for my sweet tooth dilemma? No...good. I just ordered these last week from softlysweetly. I can't wait to order her pumpkin pie marshmallows next! These are the Caramel Apple Marshmallows. This is honestly one of the best fall-like treats I've had all 'fall' here in Las Vegas. I can't wait to try one in my coffee tomorrow morning! Off of the chef's suggestion from softlysweetly.
Caramel Apple Marshmallows
I am in trouble.

I can't stop eating these!!!

day 3. a photo that makes you happy
Recent picture of my sisters and I (+Sammy the poodle)
I live in Las Vegas, NV and my sisters live in Seattle, WA. Being a military wife pretty much guarantee's you away from your family. Which is fine, because I have my husband next to me. :) But there is no greater feeling than seeing family. I miss them so much! This photo was taken in September 2010.
day 4. a photo of the last place you went on holiday
Seattle part of our trip Aug. 2010 atop the Space Needle.
Holiday? Interesting choice of words there. Anywho, besides little mini weekend trips away I think this could be considered our last 'holiday'. When Josh got home from Afghanistan this past summer we did a HUGE road trip from Las Vegas to San Diego, CA (to enjoy some time alone..). San Diego, CA to Seattle, WA. Seattle, WA to Napa, CA. and then back HOME. We took a week vacation in every location we went to visit with family and such. It was a lot of fun to say the least. Although our rear-ends didn't think so after the LONNNNNNG car rides. :)

day 2. a photo of yourself a year ago
August 16, 2009
This photo was taken on our wedding day.
Taken Oct. 2009 at Mt. Charleston, NV
I couldn't pick between the two photo's. :) I like them both of myself, which is rare.
